Robinson Sensei is a 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate and 1st Dan black in Shito-Ryu Karate. She has studied and tested before such notable Sensei as Kenishi Haramoto, Hidetaka Nishiyama, Hirokazu Kanazawa, Kenzo Mabuni and Osamu Ozawa.

She was 5-time AAU Women's National Champion (1993-1997) in Individual Kata. She has competed as an individual and Team Kata member in many international tournaments.

Yu Sensei has a bachelor's degree in human biology from Stanford University and a master's in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego.

Yu Sensei works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a communication specialist.
